Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers to the questions employers and workers actually ask. If your question isn't here, the phone is faster — 0113 226 1111.

What kind of workers does Tony Pugal Recruitment supply?

Industrial and light-commercial temporary staff across Leeds and West Yorkshire — factory operatives, warehouse and production line workers, FLT drivers, panel wirers, and same-day cover for sickness, holiday, or sudden order spikes.

How quickly can you supply temporary staff?

Often the same day. Tony takes the call, works the pool of regulars he has built over the years, and confirms within hours. For full project crews or specialist roles, lead time is one to three working days.

What areas do you cover?

Leeds-based industrial sites mostly, with occasional placements out into the wider West Yorkshire belt where a relationship makes it sensible. The agency does not take work outside the region.

Are your workers compliant with AWR and right-to-work checks?

Yes. All temporary workers are processed under the Agency Workers Regulations 2010, including week-12 pay parity. Right-to-work checks are completed before placement. The agency operates under the Fair Work Agency framework introduced in April 2026.

Do you handle permanent placements?

Yes — but the model is temp-to-perm. Workers join on a temporary contract; if they fit the site, the employer converts them to permanent without an additional finder fee on the original hire. The agency does not run dedicated executive search or white-collar permanent recruitment.

How are your rates set?

Hourly rates depend on the role, shift pattern, and AWR week-12 parity requirements. Tony quotes directly — no automated pricing portal. Operations managers get a transparent breakdown of worker pay versus margin during the first call.

Why owner-led — what does that mean in practice?

Every placement passes through Tony personally. There is no junior account manager, no pooled SDR team, no shared inbox. When you call 0113 226 1111, you speak to the founder. That is why a small number of operations managers have stayed with the agency for ten or fifteen years.

How do I get started?

For employers: call Tony on 0113 226 1111 or email tony@tonypugalrecruitment.co.uk. Be ready to describe the role, shift pattern, and start date.

For workers: the same number or email. Be ready to share your previous industrial experience, sites you've worked at, and right-to-work documents.
